Frequently Asked Questions

If yours isn't here, email contact@mailpattern.tech.

Is MailPattern actually free?+

Yes — the core lookup tool is free and unlimited, with no sign-up required on the Chrome extension or single email lookup. Bulk lookup (up to 200 contacts) requires a free account. For teams needing verified bulk results or larger volumes, we offer a paid Verified plan, plus a done-for-you custom lead list service.

Why confidence scores instead of a "verified" badge?+

Because "verified" gets misused across this industry. A pattern we've seen hundreds of times for a domain deserves more trust than one we've only seen once or twice. We show you the real number behind every guess — and when the data genuinely doesn't support a confident answer, we say "insufficient data" instead of making one up.

What does MailPattern actually collect?+

We don't tie individual email searches to your identity on the free lookup tools. We do track, in aggregate, which domains people search for but don't yet have data on — this helps us know what to add next. If you create a free account for bulk lookup, we store your account email to deliver results. We never sell or resell personal data in bulk.

How big is the database behind the score?+

About 2.2M distinct email patterns across roughly 1.68M verified company domains, continuously growing.

How is this different from Hunter, Apollo, RocketReach, SignalHire, ContactOut, Lusha, and similar tools?+

They're credit-metered contact databases — most cap free usage at 5-25 lookups a month. MailPattern's core lookup is free and unlimited, with honest confidence scoring nobody else shows. Our Chrome extension lets you pick a company or name straight from any page you're browsing, with results in a docked side panel.

What do I get with the custom lead list service?+

Tell us your ICP — industry, seniority, region, company size — and we manually source a list of contacts with confidence-scored emails, delivered as a CSV.

How do I report a bad guess or request a correction?+

Email contact@mailpattern.tech with the name, domain, and a one-line note. We use these reports to directly improve our pattern data over time.
